BIO

Rose Thomas

When I was a kid, I loved performing in plays. And Halloween was my favorite holiday. I think both of these passions stemmed from a love of exploring the life of someone, or something else. I think that is also what makes me a good story-teller: I grew up playing pretend, and that helped me develop the skills needed to imagine complex characters and scenarios.

I also grew up playing video games with my two brothers. It was another form of escapism, where I could project myself into another world. But I really stumbled my way into my career in games. Having moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in film, I took a job in QA just to make some extra money. But I found I was decent at it and fascinated by game development. From there, I worked my way into design and the rest is history.

I love the medium of games in terms of storytelling. The chance to fully immerse a player in a story, in a way that films and books cannot, is a truly special and magical experience. I strive to be a story craftsperson, who creates magical worlds that help other's feel the sense of wonder and magic that I have felt since childhood.

When I'm not working on, or playing games, I like to sew costumes and travel. I also have a small jungle of houseplants that I dote on more than I probably should.
